What our guests have to say about Third & Main
"We were both nervous about having to leave our home and spend two months in Jacksonville. When we went the first time to Third & Main I was hesitant but after the couple of days that we were there I knew this was the place to be. Everyone was a proton patient and the apt. reminded me of the first place Dan and I had after we married. It was clean, plenty of space and a kitchen with everything one could want. The security was terrific, didn’t have to worry about anything including our car. I met Melissa and she was so pleasant and people staying there were so friendly. I spoke to Dan and said this is where we will stay and he agreed. The whole experience was pleasant. We met many patients and families and had dinners together and free lunch every Wednesday at the center plus a doctor or employee speaks to us about different types of cancer and how proton works. Also took whoever wanted to have a tour of the center. The time slipped by much faster than I thought it would. And for me being able to have my 4 pound poodle with me was such a relief. I would be happy to talk to anyone about our experiences."

"After being evaluated for therapy at the UF Proton Therapy Center, I was concerned about accommodations while receiving seven weeks of therapy. The facility at Third and Main was mentioned. We went to meet with Melissa who was very helpful, particularly with reservations because the start of therapy was uncertain. We were shown the apartments and I was impressed with the amenities. One big advantage to Third and Main is the five minute drive to the Proton Center. There is also a restaurant on the first floor if one does not want to fix meals. The facility is very secure requiring card access for parking and entry into the apartments. If it were necessary for me to return to Jacksonville, my first choice for housing would be Third and Main."
"My husband and I were totally satisfied with our eight week stay at Third & Main. Melissa could not have been more welcoming & helpful. She obviously really cares about the people staying there. The location was ideal in that it was so close to the treatment center, and it was particularly helpful and comforting to be among other patients and families going through treatment. But one of the greatest things for us was that it is so pet-friendly. We had with us our Welsh Corgi and our sweet cat. They were as welcome as we were. For anyone going through treatment at UF, you could not find a better place to stay."

"If you have to come to Jacksonville for treatment, Third and Main is the place you want to stay. The manager Melissa is great, she has a way of making you feel like you’re family. The attached restaurant has great food and service and the treatment center is only 5 min away. If I ever get the chance to recommend Third and Main, I will. I met several new friends during workouts in the gym, and with all the get togethers going on, you will not have time to be bored. GREAT PLACE!"
"Clean, comfortable, secure, very reasonably priced place to stay close to the Proton Center. Staff super helpful. Already made reservation for a future stay."

"Third and Main was the best place for us to stay during my treatment at UF Proton Therapy Institute. Virtually everyone else staying there was a UFPTI patient. As a matter of fact, 3rd and Main is pretty much an extension of the Proton Center. Living there was actually a continuation of patient support and therapy. Melissa and Debra always posted timely notices of events for the patients and their families, and actually joined in many of these events themselves. The two of them were very efficient and responsive in their management of the facility, and both were just a delight to be around. The suite we stayed in was roomy, clean, and well appointed. The on premise Uptown Kichen and Bar provided great food, drink and service. It was a very short drive to the Proton Center, just over a mile; I even walked a number of times. That makes it very convenient for taking the short call for treatment that happens occasionally as the schedule changes around the gantry times. It is also a very short drive to downtown Jacksonville, which is also an easy walk. The immediate neighborhood is in the process of revitalization with some nice coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, etc., with newer ones coming on line all the time. The best part, though, was being surrounded by the "family" of Proton patients and their loved ones. When my treatment was over, Melinda and I both felt like we were leaving home, even though we were going home. We both highly recommend staying at Third and Main."

Located just 1 mile from UF Proton Therapy Institute, these high-end apartments cater especially to patients!
Third and Main has pet friendly options as well, and is just 1/2 a mile from a popular dog park.
"Third and Main is very clean, safe and well appointed. It’s very close to the proton center and a great way to meet and make new friends. They host get togethers etc. Melissa Markham does a terrific job of making us comfortable and has in-depth knowledge of the entire proton process. She makes a huge difference and her friendly smile and warm welcoming spirit always made our days s little brighter. We thank her and her staff for all they do."
